The
Former Bufumbira east parliamentary seat contender under Alliance for National
Transformation Rev.Dr.Nshizirungu Innocent has been elected as the Bishop of
Born again faith churches in Kisoro district. He was elected yesterday at Mount
Zion living church near Rusiza Market in Kisoro Municipality.
The
election process was presided over by the born again provincial guild member
Bishop David Tumusange. Tumusange congratulated the newly elected bishop and
thanked the pastors for entrusting the newly elected leaders with authority to
lead them.
He
further congratulated all other elected members of the committee for emerging
as sole candidates at every post. Bishop Tomusange cautioned the elected
leaders to follow God’s way and the principles of Born again churches.
Pr.
Mbabazi Grace who has been acting as Bishop congratulated the newly elected
Bishop and thanked God for having enabled them reach this point of getting the
new leadership. She also thanked the born again provincial Guild for
considering Kisoro and sent one of them to take charge of elections. Pastor
Mbabazi commended all pastors of Born again faith churches in Kisoro who
participated in elections
The
elected Bishop Rev.Dr.InnocentNshizurungu thanked God for enabling him to take
charge of gospel ministry in Kisoro district. He revealed his development
priorities which include Education and cooperation with other religions in the
district.
Other
elected members are Mbarushimana Stephen as assistant Bishop, Mbabazi Grace as
secretary general, Emmanuel Owayesu as Public relations officer among others
The
50 year old elected bishop participated in 2021 general elections under ANT and
lost to NRM candidate Hon. Dr. James Nsaba Buturo.
Rev.Nshizurungu
who was born on 15th March 1973 is a last born among five children
born to late Anthony Ngirabakunzi and late mother Maria Nyirabasabose of
Mukaka village in Kanaba sub-county, Kisoro district. He attended Gatete
primary school in 1982 and later joined Giosorora primary school where he
completed his primary in 1989. He joined Bukinda minor seminary in Kabale for
Ordinary level and St. Joseph’s Kiboga for advanced level, where later after
completion of A-level joined Major spirit and missionary seminary in
Arusha Tanzania affiliated to Albania university.
He
would later study at Global university where he earned his second Bachelor’s
degree in Bible and theology in 2015, he further went to Wycliffe University
Nsangi in Wakiso district for Masters of theology and later on attended East
African polytechnic Kyambogo for Phd and specialized in Doctorate of ministry,
pastoral care and counseling. He is married to one wife and God blessed them
with five children.
