KISORO: Man lynched to death for stealing bunch of matooke

An angry mob in Gasave village, Rwaramba parish, Nyakinama Sub County in Kisoro district today morning beat up a suspected matooke thief to death. Ngororano Gilbert of 20 years old was clobbered after he was found with a bunch of Matooke and his body was later left along the road in the same village.

It is said that the deceased was found lying helplessly with blood oozing from the cuts on the head and the neck early today morning. His mother Ntakirutimana said they tried to take him to the hospital but he breathed his last while still
at the crime scene and his body was taken home.

Sabiti James the vice chairperson of Gasave village said that the deceased was a habitual thief in the village. He called upon young people to always work hard so that they are not killed while stealing.

Ntakirutimana Aphia mother of the deceased told our reporter that her son used to steal home properties but she had no reports of her deceased son stealing from other homes.

Gasave residents said that the deceased and his accomplices have been stealing for long and are dissatisfied over the increased cases of robbery in the area.

Police was alerted and visited the scene to start investigations.
