Two people died on spot
in a road fatal accident involving motor vehicle registration number UAJ 827 Q
and motorcycle registration number UFL 468 C along Kisoro Mutolere road in
Kamonyi village last evening.
The accident happened at
around 9:10pm when a Toyota Land Cruiser green in colour driven by one Kwizera
Aggrey of Nyakinama subcounty in Kisoro collided with a motorcycle
Registration number UFE 468C Bajaj boxer red in color ridden by unknown.
The accident claimed the
lives Irahali Devis of 19 years old, a resident of Nyabitale village Rwaramba
parish, Nyakinama Sub county county and Twizere Arnold a 15year old
Mufumbira and a resident of Sagitwe village Mabungo parish, Nyarusiza sub
county who all died on spot.
According to
a statement from the police,it is alleged that Kwizera reckless drove the
car UAJ 827Q T. recklessly and lost control and ended up colliding
head on with motorcycle UFE 468C bajaj which was carrying the
deceased persons.
People that were in
the vehicle immediately took off, leaving two Bodies helplessly lying in the
trench while one person a teacher at St John's primary school Rwaramba
and a captain of Nzovu fc in nyakabande only identified as Isaac was rushed to
Mutorle hospital.
Police visited the scene
and the two bodies were conveyed to Kisoro Hospital mortuary pending
post-mortem. The two vehicles were also towed to Kisoro central police station
pending IOV inspection.
Police said that search
for Kwizera Aggrey, the driver of UAJ 827Q and other inquiries into the whole
accident are ongoing.
