The Family of Ishimwe
Joseline of Kanombe who was hit by a
bullet that left her physically impaired during the war between M23rebels and
DRC Government forces on 20th March 2022in Muramba sub county,
Kisoro district have continued to ask for Government intervention as conditions
of Ishimwe Joseline continue to worsen.
Earlier this week,
Ishimwe said that ever since the day she got injured, she has never got any aid
from the government and no government official has ever come to check on her
adding that she is now living in a challenging situation as she cannot stand
for long hours and move long distances.
She now asks for the
government to intervene as she used to survive on casual labour but she is unable
to work and feed for her family and herself.
Ishimwe's father in law,
David Munyakarato says that her daughter has been so weak since the incident
happened. He added that their life is in danger in case the conflict breaks
again since they are leaving at the border line.
While in Muramba Sub
County to commission and hand over completed government projects to beneficiary
residents on Tuesday 6th June, Kisoro RDC received this report.
He noted that he had
about three Ugandan casualties of the same war but he had never been informed
about Ishimwe.
He pledged his support to
her, especially lobbying from non government organisations like CAFOMI.
