Parents in Kisoro have been urged to actively
spend time with their children and listen to their concerns before resorting to
punishment.
This advice was highlighted on 8 January
during the third day of a four-day training session on Christian counseling and
positive parenting, held at Hope Community Action Africa in Kisoro. The
training targeted church leaders from various denominations, parents, and
married youth.
The event was organized by Hope Community
Action Africa, a non-governmental organization dedicated to supporting
vulnerable groups, particularly orphans. According to Niyonshima Erick, the
organization's coordinator, the training aimed to equip leaders and parents
with essential parental guidance and leadership skills.
Participants expressed their appreciation for
the training, noting that they had gained valuable knowledge. Many pledged to
share what they had learned with others in their communities. They also
commended Hope Community Action Africa for organizing the sessions and
requested additional training opportunities to benefit more people.
