The
Bufumbira South Member of Parliament, Hon. Alex Niyonsaba yesterday donated
beans and maize flour as food relief to the mysterious fire victims of Matarama
village in Muramba Sub County.
A family of
eight households with about 40 members has been grappling with uncertain
mysterious fires and stones for the last two months which has led to loss of
property like clothes, mattresses while stones wreck iron sheets, cause panic
at night and sometimes hit people hard causing injuries.
The family
members that had resorted to seek refuge in one of the local churches in Gisozi
parish was later chased away by church authorities after mysterious fires
started gutting their clothes in church.
With
continuous prayers, the horrible happenings have recently reduced to at least
once in two days and members are sleeping in their houses whose walls have been
destroyed by fires and stones.
While
delivering 10 Kilograms of beans and 10 Kilograms of maize flour to each
household, the political assistant to Hon. Niyonsaba Alex who doubles as the
Muramba LCV councillor, Martin Hakizimana commended the legislator for
responding fast in supporting the troubled family.
The Muramba
sub county LC3 Chairman, Nzabona Francis also applauded Hon. Alex Niyonsaba for
his commitment and the will to donate food to the family that has spent two
months without peace. He noted that the same legislator has offered fuel to the
district to grade the Muramba-Bunagana road.
Family
members said that there has been no peace in their homes since one of them
returned from Buganda and tempered with his mother's grave yard. They say that
they hardly go to gardens as they fear catching fire in isolation but also they
fear interacting with the community due to trauma.
